Movada's First Quarter Earnings Sink 48%

Movado Group’s first quarter earnings plummeted 48% to $1.2 million on sluggish U.S. sales. Total sales for the period ended April 30 came in at $101.4 million, or 2.7% higher than a year ago.

The company said that it got a boost from international sales, despite the fall in domestic sales. The watchmaker is planning to unveil new products in future quarters to entice U.S. consumers to shop.
