Bergdorf's Akris Trunk Show Nets $1 Million

Proving that trunk shows are far from dead, Bergdorf Goodman held a three-day fall trunk show for the Akris brand last week that netted $1 million. The event broke Bergdorf’s record of the most sales in one day by a single designer.

The retailer said that the Akris is a hit because it offers investment pieces that consumers can use to build a high-quality wardrobe. Items like a cashmere cardigan run at about $3,000.

The Swiss brand boosts a refined and modern style and has distribution in over 500 doors around the world.
